Personal Care Assistant (Current Employee) says

"It is a good company to work for especially if you are in need of a few extra $$$. I am waiting on my review still haven’t had that and been with the company since April."

says

"I worked at The Deal Cons: How many non-writing, undeservedly-arrogant, and obnoxious editors can a business publication have? apparently about one per staff member - non-writing (read: non-producing) middle management is bloated and should be downsized and required to write (and stop acting like they won a pulitzer yesterday)"

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I have been working at The Deal full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Management has ignored the strengths and weaknesses of their employees and instead turn to trending features and tools to keep the service alive."

Former Employee - Writer says

"I worked at The Deal full-time Cons: So much culling from acquisitions leaves the remaining talent overburdened."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at The Deal full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Since being acquired the company is constantly under new and changing mandates, while losing a significant portion of their employees to layoffs. The result is often chaos, as editors are compelled to chase whatever the flavor of the week that someone handed to management and reporters scrambling to march in step. There are too many things they want to do with too few people. And the end result is that much of it is done poorly. The editors realize this, but have no control over it."

says

"I have been working at The Deal Cons: Very low salary, no communication among co-workers, low morale, few perks, supervisors are very rude and disrespectful and not diverse at all. Unprofessional work environment and very high turnover."

says

"I have been working at The Deal Cons: no growth, very low salaries"

says

"I have been working at The Deal Cons: upper and senior management; raises; compensation; moral;"

Marketing says

"I have been working at The Deal Cons: There is no opportunity to advance at The Deal LLC. There are people here who have been doing the same mindless activity for almost 10 years. Employees at The Deal LLC are extremely underpaid and overworked. Only sales reps and executives get bonuses. There is a strong emphasis placed on upper management...they are the only ones getting the perks. There haven't been promotions or reviews here in one and a half years. If you come to work here, expect to get paid the same about untill you leave. The work here is not challenging. HR department is biased towards its favorites. Editors are always complaining about something. The editorial and business side do not speak to each other very much."

"I worked at The Deal full-time Cons: There is poor management and company needs to stick to mission."

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee says

"I worked at The Deal full-time for more than 3 years Cons: Money and job security. Constant, sudden layoffs due to "budget restrictions" even when upper management claims no such thing will occur. Salaries still sag badly compared to other positions at competitors. Expected to fill multiple positions without additional pay. Office culture is a bit unhealthy, where taking earned vacation time comes down to "can we afford to not have me here for a few days?" and lunch at your desk while you work is almost expected."
